  • Friction Quartet appears for the first time on St. Mary’s Candlelight Concert series.

    Taking place at the beautiful and storied Episcopal Church of St. Mary the Virgin, this free concert is the perfect addition to a late afternoon in San Francisco.

    A light and bright program explores minimalism with Sam AdamsString quartet no. 3, (only it’s third performance in the US) AND a world premiere of one of Friction Quartet’s most recent commissions; DIRTWORK by Michi Wiancko. Also on the program is an celebration of folk music, with the wonderfully folk-inspired Strum by Jessie Montgomery and some beautiful fiddle arrangements written by the Danish String Quartet.
