for string quartet
Last night in my dreams, I was editing a score and I came across a forest growing right out of the measures in one section. The clearcut measures around the section didn’t hold the same intrigue to me. They seemed lifeless and desolate, empty of anything wonderful. But this section with the forest was beautiful, and I decided that my music needs more trees in it. Treescape is a descent into the forest. It’s an appreciation for the great communities that are the groves and woodlands, for the masses of conifer and deciduous that cover our planet.
