Doug first encountered Stephen and his music at the Bang on a Can Festival in 2013. Friction performed Stephen’s Strange Dances many times and are releasing the work on their upcoming album, Static Motion. Forever Reaching was written for Friction in 2015. Stephen describes the piece as “really, really sad” and asked that it be Friction’s “go to piece for memorial services.”
